What You’ll Do

As a Family Medicine or Med-Peds physician at Strong Children Wellness, you will play a vital role in providing primary healthcare services to children and families. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages—from newborns to adults—focusing on prevention, health promotion, and disease management. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families, providing support, education, and compassionate care.

A typical day in this role may include:

  • Providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including preventive care, acute care, and chronic disease management
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests to inform diagnosis and treatment plans
  • Coordinating comprehensive patient care through effective referrals to behavioral health and medical subspecialties
  • Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
  • Prescribing medications and providing appropriate treatments
  • Engaging in continuous education to stay informed about best practices in family medicine/Med-Peds, with a focus on underserved communities
  • Participating in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and coordinate care
  • Evaluating patients for psychosocial or medical complexity to enroll into our care management program
  • Documenting patient encounters and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes 

Requirements

Who You Are

You are a skilled and compassionate Family Medicine or Med-Peds Physician dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services to children and families. You have a strong foundation in primary care and a passion for preventive care and health promotion. With excellent clinical and communication skills, you build trusting relationships with patients and families, fostering a compassionate and caring environment. You’re a lifelong learner, continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth and development. You’re known for your collaborative mindset and thrive in a team-based approach to healthcare with proficiencies below: 

  • Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and formulating treatment plans
  • Effective communication and counseling skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EMR) systems


What You’ll Have

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school; and
  • Board certification with current New York Medical licensure in Family Medicine or Med-Peds; and
  • 2 plus years’ of clinical experience in Family Medicine or Med-Peds
  • Demonstrated experience working with children ages 0 - 5
  • High interest and prior expertise working with under-resourced communities of color 
  • Ability to work full-time in Queens, Bronx, and/or Woodside, NY, Mon to Fri, with some flexibility
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with evidence-based practices
  • Dedication to supporting the new Healthy Steps program, an evidence-based program that focuses on the early identification and intervention of developmental, behavioral, and emotional issues in young children
  • Desire to contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment 
  • Ideally, you’re fluent in Spanish and English, but not required
